Mentorship

A staged demonstration programme for improving enterprise practices.

Mentorship for Tourism Businesses

The STAR-T Mentorship Programme provides practical, personalised guidance to tourism SMEs that want to introduce or improve sustainable practices. Trained Chamber staff, supported through the project mentorship framework, will work with participating businesses to turn sustainability knowledge into realistic actions.

Mentorship may address areas such as waste reduction, resource efficiency, sustainable sourcing and other operational improvements that contribute to responsible tourism.

Key project outputs:

  • Mentoring support for 10 SMEs
  • Standard documentation for the mentorship process
  • Digital mentorship content for wider use and knowledge sharing
  • A practical support mechanism connecting Chambers and tourism businesses

Mentorship stages

  1. Initial needs discussion

The enterprise’s goals, current practices and support needs are reviewed together.

  2. Selection of priority practices

A focused set of practical priorities is agreed for the implementation period.

  3. Guided implementation period

The agreed practices are applied with guidance and regular checkpoints.

  4. Review of outcomes and next steps

Outcomes are reviewed and the next practical actions are recorded.
